1. Carry out a pilot separation test with the targeted contaminant being ibuprofen.

2. If proven effective, this technology can be used industrially as an addition to our existing water purification techniques.

3. The ultimate goal would be the large-scale production of functional magnetic nanoparticles (FMNPs) for the cost-effective efficient removal of trace amounts of pharmaceutical compounds to ensure clean drinking water that poses no risk to human health.
