There are some ways this project could have been improved. One was the fact that the experiment was conducted over 10 days only. This is not a very long time to carry out the experiment, and for optimal results and to produce more hydrogen the experiment should have been carried out over a longer time. Two trials were done to make sure the results were reliable and produced the same outcome (or close to) every time. However, they were done in different amounts 710 ml and 1.5 l- the trails should have been completed with the same amounts.
Also, several other copper concentrations could be tested to see if any other amounts were better; doing this would arrive at possibly a better result.
Now that the experiment is finished, there are things that can be done to further improve the effectiveness of the algae to produce hydrogen. As mentioned before different amounts of Cu can be tested. As well as if there was a sulphur defiant media plus an addition of copper and whether that could affect the algae in a better or worse way. There are other tests such as pH and other nutrients to be tested for to improve the effectiveness of the algae.
