Subject Area
My

of Chemistry,
Health/Sport Science.
Project Type
My
project was an
experimental type of project.
Inquiry based project
Project
Language
Done in English.
Project
Format
My project was presented
in our school and on the CVSF in HTML
standard format.
Project Summary
My project
looked at the affect of four types of
Cleaners (saponin, soap and synthetic
detergent and water) and how well each
will clean four types of stains (coffee,
chocolate, olive oil and wine). Each
stain was made on a piece of 100% cotton
(natural fibre) cloth. I found
that plain soap was as good a cleaner as
synthetic detergent. My hypothesis was
wrong and because of this I would rather
use regular soap to clean my cloths as
it is more biodegradable and made from
renewable materials.
Software Tools
I
used Microsoft FrontPage to edit my web
pages and web site and used Adobe
Photoshop to create and edit the
graphics. The graph was created in
Excel.
Hardware Tools
I
used a digital camera to take the
pictures on this website and a digital
thermometer to measure the mouth
temperature.
Source
of the Idea
The project idea came
from talking to my Dad who has been a
judge at the Calgary Youth Science Fair.
