Experiment # 1: Light Filters
  1. First you must switch on the light source (flashlight).
  2. Next, place a filter in front of the flashlight. Allow the light to fall on a white surface.
  3. Note the colour of the light on the surface.
  4. Experiment with other filters and combination of filters.
Experiment # 2: Diffraction
  1. First switch on the light source.
  2. Place the diffraction gradient film in front of the flashlight, at an angle so that the minute slits allow the white light to spread into a colour spectrum.
  3. We can view the spectrum by looking at the light source through the diffraction film.
Experiment #3: Reflection of Light
  1. Turn on the light source.
  2. Place a mirror in front of the light source so that the light falls on the mirror at an angle.
  3. Let the light fall on a black surface on the opposite side of the angle of the light source.
  4. Measure the angle of the reflected light.
Experiment #4: Refraction of Light
  1. Turn on the light source. Place a triangular prism in front of the light source.
  2. Note how the ray of light bends as it passes through the prism. Let the light fall on a black surface.
  3. Experiment with other convex and concave lenses.
  4. Note the findings.
