Procedure

1. Design and build an infrared spotlight than can allow one to see further than normal car headlights

The box build

The Circuit design and build

Building the prototype

2. Use visible light to determine the distance needed so that the projection lens creates a beam of focused visible light

3. Adjust the distance between the light source and the projection lens

4. Replace the visible light source with the infrared LED’s.

5. Test the extent of the infrared LED’s at night

6. Mount spotlight at height of car headlights and camera beside it

7. Have the deer shaped reflector moved incrementally away from the light until it is out of the camera’s sight

8. Determine the distance where no image can be seen
