Have you ever heard about osmotic pressure? Osmotic pressure, also known
as osmosis pressur, affects to the plants absorb water. Water moves from a lower
concentration to higher concentraton by osmotic pressure. Here is an example. When a plant is growing in a
contained water, the plant has a higher concentration than the surrounding water does. Therefore, as I mentioned
about osmotic pressure before, water moves from lower to higher concentration. So the plants will absorb water.
But, if I replace the liquid by milk which has higher concentration, the plant will not absorb milk. Because the water moves
from lower to higher concentration, the water from plants which was stored in roots will move to the milk.
