2) Water (200ml.; with few drops of food colorfor easy identification) 3) Vegetable Oil (200ml.) 4) CornSyrup (200ml.; dark colored) 5) Grape 6) Quarter (coin) 7) Piece of plastic 8) Piece of Cork Experiment #2 1) Lime
2) Two Transparent Jars 3) Salt 4) Teaspoon 5) Water METHOD
Experiment #1
1) Pour water in the jar. 2) Add vegetable oil. 3) Add corn syrup. Let the liquids settle down. 4) Drop a quarter 5) Drop a grape. 6) Drop a piece of plastic. 7) Drop a piece of cork. 8) Observe how these liquids and solids float or sink in each other. Record the order of their position in the jar. Experiment #2
1) Take one jar and fill it half with tap water. 2) Take the second jar and fill it half with tap water. Add 3 teaspoons of salt and stir to dissolve completely. 3) Put lime in tap water and observe whether it floats or sinks. 4) Take the lime and now put it in salted water and observe whether it floats or sinks. 5) Record the observations |
