| Summary of Project | As countries throughout the world search for renewable sources of energy, the answer may lie in the oceans that separate us. It may be possible to generate electricity by harnessing the energy from ocean currents. By designing and building my own turbine generator, I will attempt to answer the following question: Can a simulated ocean current generate enough force to power a 1.5 volt 25mAmp light bulb? I believe that this is possible, and I will test this theory by building a very light electromagnetic generator and simulate a very strong current that will illuminate the bulb. |
