The problem for my project was; can people notice the difference between
a compressed picture compared to the original one, and I said that most
people couldn’t notice the difference. My experiment proved me wrong as
many people did noticed the difference. During my project I did not have
any safety issues because it was contained to one room. My Independent
Variables are;
can
people tell the difference between image compression and between
formats. My
dependent Variable is the
ratings that different people give the photos,
this was I changed to see if people notice the difference. The
controlled variables are same photos because if they where different I
wouldn’t get the same result, same test subjects so they have the same
thoughts, same location because of factors in the room, same camera so
the photos are not taken at different pixels and settings, same program
so that the photos are compressed the same way, same file formats so
that they don’t change, and same lighting because this could affect the
way the person looks at the photo. If I were to change the experiment I
would use different programs and different pictures to see if there
would be a difference. My results show that if you try to publish photo
that some people can notice the difference in the photo.
