- JPEG- is a commonly used method of compression for photographic images
-GIF -the Graphics Interchange Format (GIF) is an 8-bit-per-pixel bitmap image format that was introduced by CompuServe in 1987
-PNG- Portable Network Graphics (PNG) is a bitmapped image format that employs lossless data compression
-TIFF - Tagged Image File Format (abbreviated TIFF) is a file format for storing images

Ø       Lossless compression- is a class of data compression algorithms that allows the exact original data to be reconstructed from the compressed data.

Ø       Pixel- the smallest discrete component of an image or picture on a CRT screen (usually a coloured dot)

Ø        I chose this problem because I wanted to see if people can take a low quality photo and publish it and if it looked the same as a regular photo.
