Source of Idea:
This project was chosen because the black-footed ferret is a mammal that has been extirpated in Saskatchewan. The black-footed ferret once lived in the southern grasslands of Saskatchewan. This project also relates to the grade 3 science study of endangered animals and the grade 3 social studies exploration of communities and sustainable development.

A Summary:
This project describes the black-footed ferret and its adaptations for survival in a prairie habitat. The project also discusses some of the reasons black-footed ferrets disappeared as humans began to use and change its habitat. The project also contains an interactive quiz to challenge readers’ knowledge of the black-footed ferret. As well, the project contains a slideshow about the black-footed ferret’s habitat and some of the plants and animals that are found in that habitat.
