COMMUNICATION
|
The black-footed ferret communicates in different ways. First, it is a rather noisy animal. It chatters loudly when it is scared or excited. Also male ferrets chortle to females during the mating season. Third, ferrets also use loud barks and low hissing sounds. The kits make tiny squeaking sounds. Finally, the black-footed ferret marks its territory with smell. It
rubs its scent glands on dirt, plants, and stones to mark its area. |
