The Purpose of "I'm All Ears":
The purpose of my project is to create an apparatus that will transform sound into vibration, so that people who are deaf or have other hearing impairments can "feel" for sounds like horns, phones, people calling them, etc. My hope is that after people have worn the apparatus for a little while, their brains will treat the apparatus as an "8th sense" (after taste, smell, hearing, sight, touch, balance, and kinesthetics), and will respond to the vibrations without even thinking about it.
