We stopped our experiment on February 10. Until this day the sourdough
bread has not shown any mold!
We have found that the 100% whole wheat has molded the
fastest and the second fastest to mold was the multi grain bread.
The white bread molded the third quickest.
As expected the bread without any preservatives (100% Whole wheat)
started to mold first.
A little greenish -blue spot appeared on the bread which spread out quickly
over the surface during the following days.
Multigrain bread started to mold 12 days after the expiry
date.
No surprise the white bread went without mold for 3 weeks.
On all three breads the mold started to form but the surprise was the sourdough.
It didn’t mold at all! Maybe because it is baked
without yeast.
