Project Type: Experimental
Language: English
Summary of project:
Several airfoils with endplates were constructed. Interchangeable boxes with various shaped holes were then placed at the maximum pressure difference location. Using different anemometers, airflow through the holes was observed. A classification system call CFM was developed for the holes. The device was adapted, and tested for some potential applications.

Source of the Idea for the project:
The idea for this project came during a science class. Airfoils, Bernoulli’s principle, and weather were being explored. The idea came from the newly gained knowledge on the topic. From there on, more researching was done to find out if a hole in a wing has ever been researched before. After no information was found on this topic, work on the project began.
