Summary of the Project
The period the simple pendulum
depends on the length of the rope. The length of the pendulum may not be easily
measured. In opposite, the period can be determined experimentally just by
counting of vibration over some time interval. If one can show that the period
of the pendulum depends only on the length of the rope the period can be used
to determine the length of the rope. Thus, I investigated the following
properties of the simple pendulum.
· The dependence period vs. the length
of the simple pendulum
· The dependence period vs. the angle
· The dependence period vs. the length
of the simple pendulum
Basing the experimental data I
figured out that the period changes as a square root of the length. My results
were in good agreement with the well-known theory of oscillation.
I prepared a calibration table and plotted my results
to determine the length of the pendulum from the amount of vibrations it makes
in a time-period.
