| Bioenergy from Wastes
Bioenergy is a way of converting plant or animal materials into a renewable source of energy. By doing so, biofuels (in liquid form) can reduce the overall CO2 emissions by replacing fossil fuels. Waste vegetable oil and fat can also make biofuels. This production allows sustainable waste management to be in effect and reduces the dependence on non-renewable sources for energy like fossil fuels.
There are benefits of converting waste material into biofuel. The European Union has put this process of changing wastes to energy. The purpose of this project is to prevent the serious problem of global warming. It is estimated that 19 million tones of oil will be available from biomass by 2020. Most of the biowastes would come from agricultural residues, farm wastes and other biodegradable waste streams.
