| We concluded that the box cooker worked better then the funnel cooker. The box cooker heated up to 144ºF and the funnel cooker heated up to 120ºF.
We concluded that if the funnel cooker had a black cooking pan it may have reached a higher temperature. It also had no insulation in the box, that may have made it work better.
There was nothing to insulate the bottom of the glass jar, it may have been losing heat out the bottom. There were many variables with the funnel cooker we will change these things
and try again.
In order to make both of the cookers work better we could have had a bigger reflective area. If we had of used a shinny metal for the reflective panels instead of aluminium foil more of the suns heat may have been reflected towards the baking pan. We were able to make some yummy hot chocolate with the water that we heated up. We are looking forward to when the weather heats up and we can do some more cooking with our solar cookers. |
