Oil Extraction

Basically...

Method 2

This method requires 2 electrodes or graphite rods, which will use electricity to heat up water, in which the oil sands are immersed. The water heats up- by the resistivity that is happening between the two electrodes. The boiling water causes the oil molecules on the sand grains to melt and float up on the surface of the water. This experiment was tested out and it worked very thoroughly, and efficiently. If salt was added to the experiment, it would speed up the experiment even more.

Caution: When plugged in, the two electrodes must not touch each other or it will cause a short circuit.
