A Look at Global Warming
Prevention

Although global warming may help certain areas that are too cold harvest crops, there are not many positive things about this nuisance. It can do some major damage to planet Earth by changing ecosystems, raising sea levels, of course increasing the temperature, cause natural disasters and extreme weather events (floods, hurricanes, heat waves, droughts and even tornadoes) (Global Warming, 2007) (Global Warming, 2001).
Global warming is causing worry all over the world. Luckily, there has been a method of prevention that has become quite popular over the past years, called the Kyoto Protocol. “Kyoto,” as it is commonly referred to, was created to decrease the amount of greenhouse gas production. All countries that have agreed to it would need to decrease their production by six to eight percent (Global Warming, 2001). So far, Canada, The United States, Several European, and Japan (Kyoto is after all the city it was named after) have agreed to the protocol.
Kyoto is doing some good for everyone, but Earth still needs a little bit more help. People can start making their lives environmentally friendly. Instead of choosing the gas guzzler car, choose the hybrid. Instead of using your car everyday, take public transit, as many buses nowadays are turning into hybrid vehicles. All people need to do is respect the environment a little bit more, and it will do good for all of us.
