Source of Idea:

This project was chosen because the sage grouse is a bird that is endangered in Saskatchewan. In Canada, the sage grouse lives only in Saskatchewan and Alberta. This project also relates to the grade 3 science study of endangered animals and the grade 3 social studies exploration of communities and sustainable development.

A Summary:

This project describes the sage grouse and its adaptations for survival in a grasslands and sagebrush habitat. The project also discusses some of the present dangers facing the sage grouse as humans begin to use and change its habitat. The project also contains an interactive quiz to challenge readers’ knowledge of the sage grouse. As well, the project contains an interactive page showing the sage grouse’s habitat and some of the plants and animals that share its habitat.
