ElectricDrawbacksThe biggest drawback of a battery electric vehicle (BEV) that stops its use from becoming widespread is perhaps its price. Even though it is cheaper to use than an internal combustion vehicle in the long term, however, its initial price can be 80% higher than an internal combustion vehicle. Often, the batteries are not included in this price because they are also very expensive. Because of the low demand of BEVs, they lose their value faster than ICE vehicles. Also, often a BEV cannot go or accelerate as fast as an ICE vehicle due to the low wattage of its power system. However, several BEVs like the Venturi Fetish are capable of matching the speed and acceleration of an ICE vehicle. |
