These days, there are lots of teenagers with eye problems. Most of the teenagers spend 1 hour on watching television and reading books, but 3 hours on using computer, some of them even spend over 8 hours on it. (vi) As Ian Morgan of the Australian National University in Canberra said: “As kids spend more times on computers or watching television, they are going to become more myopic.”  So, these are the main reasons the teenagers get eye problems.

The teenagers at the age of 19 had the most people with eye problem with about 80%. The second most was the teenagers at the age of 17, with about 63%. Over 70% of the teenagers with eye problems are short sighted. However, the teenagers at the age of 15 get short sightedness the most. There are also about 19%, on the averages with Astigmatism. The most important is there are 100% of all the teenagers in each age group (14-19) who with eye problems wearing glasses or contact lenses. And over 60% of their parents are wearing glasses or contact lenses as well. Some of the teenagers have considered getting a laser surgery, the most, 58% of the teenagers at the age of 14 want to get a laser surgery.

Since teenagers spend a lot of time on using computer, it caused them to get eye problems more easily. They spend 1 hour on using computer, and there are 5% of them with eye problems. However, when they spend 2 hours on using computer, then there are 14% of them have eye problems. The percentage is increasing proportionally. They spend more time on using computer, and get eye problems easier.
