Abstract

The purpose of the three experiments being reported is to find out how roots contribute to the growth of the plant. To do this, three experiments were completed to learn how roots function. The first experiment was to see if roots always grow down because roots are supposed to anchor the plant. The second experiment was to see if roots grow towards the source of water because roots need water to grow. Finally, the third experiment was to see if roots can hold soil together.
The results of the experiments showed that not only is the presence of water important to the growth of plants but that there is also just the right amount of water which will allow the plants to grow best.
