The CANDU reactor currently supplies fifteen percent of Canada’s electricity, and almost half of Ontario’s electricity. As energy demands increase constantly, and global warming and climate change threaten the earth, nuclear technology may be the only solution to an increase in electricity production and a decrease in harmful greenhouse gases.
