Conclusion
“The only thing that scares me more than space aliens is the idea that there aren't any space aliens. We can't be the best that creation has to offer. I pray we're not all there is. If so, we're in big trouble”, Ellen DeGeneres.
To conclude, in conducting research upon extra-terrestrial life, I have found myself increasingly fascinated in everything to do with the subject. The varying theories about extra-terrestrial life are extremely interesting to me, because of the fact that as of 2007, they are only theories rather than facts. The science world, in my opinion, is overrun by topics that have already been studied inside out to perfection. Astronomy is one topic that offers the imagination a chance to work due to the lack of knowledge about what lies beyond our planet.
One of the difficulties about this project was finding subjective information. I found that due to the abundance of theories about this topic, it was difficult to find websites and research utilities that weren’t biased for one theory or another. From a scientific perspective, I tried my best to include as many facts as I could into this project, and to try and present most of the theories and counter-theories that scientists believe in today.
Personally, from the research I have done and the opinions I have looked at, I believe that bacteria and simple organisms may exist in outer space, but that we, humans, are unique in terms of development. The other belief I hold is that there are other planets that we, humans, will eventually populate. The future, for humans, seems to be as wide-open as the galaxy.
