Significance of Experiment
Findings of this experiment are of great significance and tremendous value as the results establish that ethanol can be made from a wide variety of materials at different temperatures and at a low cost using a simple environmentally friendly process. Evidently, ethanol is an ABUNDANT DOMESTIC FUEL a fuel that can be made in our own backyard!
Ethanol is being manufactured worldwide from locally available resources. For example, sugar-cane rich Brazil's ethanol program is sugar cane based; 95% of US ethanol program is corn based; in Japan it is based on biomass or forest produce; in Canada both wheat stock and corn are being used to make ethanol; in Australia research is in progress to make ethanol from barley and other grains; in Thailand ethanol is being made from rice and grass.
Ethanol is BENEFICIAL to WORLD ECONOMIES and is an opportunity for world communities to come together . Local production of ethanol is resulting in 'local coalitions' and opening new markets for farmers and forest companies , creation of construction and operating jobs at ethanol production plants. In effect, helping to strengthen and diversify our rural economies.
The increasing local production of ethanol by each country is resulting in the reduction of dependence on foreign oil while using a renewable source of energy. Our world is indeed becoming Naturally Resourceful!
Ethanol Production - The Canadian Response: In view of the many benefits - environmental and economic offered by ethanol usage and production the response from Canadian industrial sector and Renewable Fuels Association has been enthusiastic and greatly supportive:

Ethanol Production: The Emerging Equation
Therefore, to be able to journey on forever, we need to fuel a new equation that will help to Create an Ecology of Peace and result in our Making Peace with Nature .
Old Habits + Old Technology = Predictable Consequences
Old Habits + New Technology = Dramatically New Consequences!
Steps To The Future
Findings of this simple and low-cost experiment establish the true economic and environmental value of ethanol production for our planet. In essence, the choice is ours. The responsibility is ours. The future is ours.
Therefore, in the future I would like to extend this experiment:
- To study the effects of emissions from ethanol-powered automobiles on cancer-causing benzene and butadiene.
- To produce ethanol from non-conventional yet easily available resources such as manure and sewage.
Let us come together to make ethanol with Mother Nature's Seal of Approval!
