Benefits of Ethanol
Findings of this experiment are of special significance to mankind as we strive to "make 21st century a time of renewal" and of "restoring balance with Nature" (World Summit on Ethanol for Transportation, 2003).
The benefits of using ethanol are many:
- Ethanol is a PROVEN FUEL for transportation . In fact, a century ago Henry Ford had observed that: "ethanol is the fuel of the future". In 1914, he designed the famed model T-Ford to run on ethanol.

Today nearly every car manufacturer in the world approves and includes ethanol blends. All cars built since 1970s are fully compatible with up to 10 percent ethanol (E-10) in fuel mixture.
Ethanol is a CLEAN FUEL. Environmental benefits of using ethanol are many - burning it or manufacturing it does not increase the greenhouse effect. According to Department of Natural Resources, Government of Canada: ethanol is playing a key role in helping Canada and the world meet its climate change objectives. Using a liter of E-10 fuel instead of gasoline reduces greenhouse gas emissions by 3 to 4 percent. Using E-85 fuel instead of straight gasoline reduces emissions by as much as 75 percent.

Other gas stations are trying to increase public awareness regarding availability of ethanol by using attractive and distinctive coloration for ethanol gas pumps:

- Ethanol is an octane enhancing fuel. Ethanol can cut emissions of cancer-causing benzene and butadiene by fifty percent or more (National renewable Energy Laboratory, Colorado ).
- Ethanol is a high-performance fuel. The Vanguard flying team has been using 100% fuel-grade ethanol in their engines since 1993.
