APPLICATION:

•  Science and technology are more and more developed; similarly, consumers also demand various choices and high quality products. Since NaHCO₃ and KHCO₃ successfully adding to household paint and reveal their capacity for retarding and extinguishing fire, this would be a proposal idea for paint manufactories.

• When the house is about catching on fire, without fire retardant paint, the initial flames will be fueled by the walls and ceilings and such flames will travel vertically with gases collecting at the ceiling( as shown in below Figure A). These gases will soon ignite causing flashover. With fire retardant paint, the walls and ceilings will minimize fire penetration and, as a result, they will not allow the spread to other rooms and they will not become fuel to the flames.
