Conclusion

Here are the conclusions to our experiment:

  1. The Mold Penicillium Roqueforti does not grow very well on fruit, however it grew reasonably well on the banana

  2. The Mold Penicillium Digatatum grew on non-citrus fruits
  3. When the Mold establishes naturally it grows better, in our experiment the controlled grew faster than the inoculated
  4. The Mold tended to grow on the juice from the kiwi’s because Mold needs sugar to grow
  5. Sometimes in rare occasions we found threw the microscope that some fruits had more than one type of Mold growing on it, for example the controlled kiwi had four different types of Mold on it, including a orange slime Mold and spindly Mold

Acknowledgements

We learned so much doing this project; in the end it is very sad for us to quit our research and all the other things we were doing, because it was so much fun. We will always have this knowledge in our heads, so feel free to ask as many questions as you want, when you want. Thank you to all who helped us, particularly for our parents support…including providing the room for our mold farm!
