Analysis Continued...Ethylene Production
- BR overproduction seems to cause ethylene to decrease in higher salt concentrations
-> since ethylene inhibits growth, this mutation is probably good for
the development of salt tolerant plants
- ABA deficiency causes ethylene to steadily increase with salt stress ->
suggests an inverse relationship between ethylene and ABA when compared
to the wild type
Auxin resistance causes a steady increase in ethylene -> auxin may interact
with ethylene
Note- Most of the differences in the data were not statistically significantly
different (except for the results from the BR overproducing mutant), hence
the observations and interpretation drawn from this data are not valid. Also
due to large number of errors possible in this methodology of ethylene extraction,
further studies need to be carried out.
