Analysis: Petiole Length and Leaf area
- Petiole length and leaf area decrease with increasing salt concentration
(except 25 mM NaCl)
- The plants grown in 25 mM NaCl have a higher leaf area than the control
- Ethylene seems to be important in causing this trend because the overproducing
follows this trend whereas the insensitive mutant doesnĄ¯t
- All the other hormone mutants other than the ethylene insensitive
have larger leaf areas.
- Brassinosteroids overproducing seems to cause a significant reduction
in the petiole length even under low salt stress
