Overall Results
The chart below is a comparison between the averages of the scores of each variable. The lowest average score is exercise with -20 percent. However, the average score for meditation is zero percent. The highest score is sugar at 6.7 percent. There are large differences between the variable's average scores (Click chart to enlarge).

Overall Conclusions
The hypothesis for this experiment is that meditation will increase short term memory. This hypothesis cannot be accepted because the results in meditation show that meditation neither increases nor decreases short-term memory. In contrast, exercise decreased the scores showing that exercise does not improve short-term memory. However, ingesting sugar appeared to have a positive effect on short-term memory even though the sugar showed a negative affect on the adult subject's short-term memory. A problem with my experimental design is that there are not enough subjects because not having enough subjects may cause some problems with the results. Overall, sugar had the most positive affect on short-term memory. |
Hypothesis
If people meditate, then their short-term memory will improve.
