Note that there were several sources of information that were used for various different sections, such as Encarta.  The most used source for this paper is the tremendously useful textbook, Human Physiology; from cells to systems, 5th edition by Lauralee Sherwood.  Another tremendous help has been from the numerous articles and publications of Richard B.
