Our invention: 'BO-Buster'
Using a mortar and pestle, grind 1 teaspoon of Alum Crystal into a talc-like powder and pour it in a 100-ml roll-on bottle filled with distilled water. Shake before applying. Apply after shower.
Our invention uses the salt-like substance called Alum which can be purchased from your local supermarket, in the spice section, for about $3.00 for 60 grams. The 60-gram bottle contains about 17 teaspoons of alum, which would make seventeen 100-ml bottles of this home-made natural deodorant. Read the Experiment section of this site to find out the efficacy of our invention compared with other leading brands of deodorant and anti-perspirant.
We believe it works because Alum neutralizes the multiplication of the odor-causing bacteria(Ref.1) produced by the apocrine sweat mixed with the oily substance called sebum that is released by the sebaceous gland. Our invention does not inhibit production of sweat in the axillary area; therefore, it allows the axillary to do what mother nature intended it to do - sweat to cool the body temperature.
