How Diamonds are Formed

Diamonds are made of carbon.  Diamonds are minerals.  Diamonds are octahedron which means eight sided.  All diamonds are at least 990,000,000 million years old.  Diamonds are formed deep within the Earth where the temperatures are about 900-1300*| degrees C.  Diamonds are carried to the surface by volcanic eruptions.

Diamonds are formed between 1000 km and 200 km below the surface.

Diamonds shoot up through kimberlite pipes and break through the Earth.  Then the Ice-Age came.  It left small lakes around.  Then people found the small lakes, mined, and found diamonds. Carbon is in graphite (the softest mineral) and diamonds (the hardest mineral).
