Hello and welcome to ITS ONLY SKIN DEEP. This was my choice of project because I have always liked to mix and make things. This isn't my first time experimenting with creams! Why We’re Strong!

What is the skin? Why is it there? What is it made of? And how is dry skin caused. Yes, I asked these questions too, and I have some answers!

Skin is the protective layer on your body that protects your muscles and veins from dirt. The skin is sometimes called the epidermis, so, when someone says “Hey pssst, your epidermis is showing!” don’t worry; it’s only a fancy name for skin!

Skin is made up of 70% water, 25% protein, 2% lipids, and some people even think there is salt in your skin. Actually, the salt you taste when you lick yourself when you’re hot, is sweat.             The real question is, how is dry skin caused?  It is sometimes winter weather that causes it! The heat in your home goes up, and the humidity decreases, and bang, dry skin.                         Some diseases that have dry skin as a symptom are:

-Anorexic nervosa

-Autoimmune thyroid diseases

-Contact dermatitis

-Dehydration

-Diarrhea

-Hashimotos Thyroiditis

-Hypothyroidism

-Ichthyosis

-Sjovens Syndrome

- Type 2 diabetes
