For our science fair project this year, we chose the problem, “Does your hair colour affect your thinking skills?” We both predicted that although blondes and brunettes are often stereotyped, their hair colour would not affect their thinking skills. We also don’t believe that being either a male or female would affect a person’s thinking skills.  We also believe that adults will have better ‘out of the box’ thinking skills than youth. We decided to go into Regina to get our results because we believe they would be more accurate if the participants didn’t know what our project was about.  We went into Regina and asked twenty blondes, twenty brunettes, ten children, ten adults, ten females and ten males to sign our consent form and fill out our test. We had a variety of ages and sexes to fill out our test because we believe it would give us more accurate results in our broad comparison. We found that there was no difference between blonde’s and brunette’s thinking skills.  We also discovered that adults thinking skills are stronger than the youths thinking skills.  We believed this was because adult’s had more experience than children with these type of quizzes and knew that they needed to think ‘out of the box’ to correctly answer the questions.  As well we found that female’s thinking skills were stronger than male’s.  We believe this was true because female’s took their time on the quiz more than the males did.  Therefore, our conclusion was that hair colour does not affect your thinking skills.
