Independent Variable (what was changed in order to measure the results)

• Different types of liquids

Controlled Variables (conditions that do not change throughout the experiment)

•location of jars, temperature will be constant
•same amount of sugar (375 ml) and same amount of liquid (125 ml) in each jar
•use a bamboo skewer
•boiled the liquid for 3 minutes
•stirred the liquid when the sugar was added for 1 minute
•left all jars open to air
•used the same size Mason jar

Sample - 3 liquids were used in the sample

Supersaturated solution- wanted a supersaturated solution, more sugar in the jar than liquid
