Mass the 5 bamboo skewers. Divide the total mass by 5, to get the average mass of one bamboo skewer. Record.
Mass each stick with crystals on them, record. To calculate the mass of the crystal, it is the mass of the bamboo skewer and sugar crystals minus the mass of the bamboo skewer.
