In this experiment we are testing to see in what grade you have the fastest
reactions. We have decided to test this on an x-box game called “Dance Dance
Revolution.” This game involves a lot of concentration, rhythm and fast
reactions. We gathered our materials and set it up in a small, closed -in
room. Sixteen children were tested individually, one boy and one girl from
grades 5-12. Each person danced to a total of three songs. The first song is
called “Whip It.” It is a slower paced song and has 130 steps. The second
song is called “Butterfly.” It is a little quicker than the first and has
160 steps. The third song is “Together Forever.” It is the quickest song and
has a total of 172 steps. After each song is finished the x-box game will
mark you on how well you followed each step. Each step is rated in one of
these categories, Perfect, Great, Good, Almost, O.K. and Boo. After each
song is over we mark down the points that each person got on each song. Our
results showed that grades 11&12 had the fastest reactions!
