| Procedure |
- Set the system in an area where direct sunlight reaches all eight panels, facing the south.
- Connect the open ends of the model system to the positive and negative ends of the multimeter. Ensure that there is good exposure to solar energy.
- Set the multimeter to the correct range for an exact value.
- Read the value provided for the total power output of the system.
- Rewire the solar panels of the solar tree model to be in a series circuit.
- Using the same method of measurement, use the analog multimeter to measure the voltage and amperage of the system.
- Remove the solar panels from the solar tree model, and place them flat on the ground, similar to the single-panel system.
- Measure the voltage and amperage of this new arrangement.
- Rewire the solar panels, while keeping the perpendicular arrangement, into the original parallel-series circuit.
- Measure the voltage and amperage of this arrangement once again.
