Delusions - A false belief strongly held in spite of invalidating evidence, especially as a symptom of mental illness.
Dementia - Madness; insanity.
Dopamine - A monoamine neurotransmitter formed in the brain by the decarboxylation of dopa and essential to the normal functioning of the central nervous system. A reduction in its concentration within the brain is associated with Parkinson's disease.
Hallucinations - False or distorted perception of objects or events with a compelling sense of their reality, usually resulting from a mental disorder or drug.
Parkinson's - a degenerative disorder of the central nervous system characterized by tremor and impaired muscular coordination.
Schizophrenia - Any of a group of psychotic disorders usually characterized by withdrawal from reality, illogical patterns of thinking, delusions, and hallucinations, and accompanied in varying degrees by other emotional, behavioural, or intellectual disturbances. Schizophrenia is associated with dopamine imbalances in the brain and defects of the frontal lobe and is caused by genetic, other biological and psychosocial factors.
