From a very young age Rowan Cockett has been involved in the environment. A lot of his involvement has come through being a steward of Whispering Woods. He started being a steward in 1992, when he was just four and has continued his involvement to this day.

      Rowan has been designing webpages since he first entered the Canada Wide Virtual Science Fair when he was in grade 8. He has his own webpage called 'The Air Conditioned Project'. Working with this webpage has given him many of the skills he used to create 'Aliens Amongst Us'. Rowan has entered the Virtual Science Fair three times. Each time he has been awarded the highest level (Summa Cum Laude). My previous VSF project, that I did in grade 10, was also on Whispering Woods. At that point I only had one season's worth of GPS reference points.
