1. Collect all the materials that will be needed throughout the building and testing of the mini hydroelectric plant.

2. Take the Rubber-made container and drill two 3/16” holes going vertically, one 2” from the bottom and the other 8” from the bottom of the Rubber-Made container. These two holes should be located 7 1/4” from the front of the Rubber-made container. Also drill the same 3/16” holes 2” from the bottom and 8” from the bottom that is 3” and 11 1/4" from the back of the Rubber-made.

3. Take the 1”x1” boards that are 11” long, 39", and 36 1/2” and drill a 3/16” holes 2” from the bottom and 8” from the bottom of the boards.

4. Use the jig saw and cut a notch 1 1/2” from the top of the 1”x1” boards that is 11” long.

5. Then mount on the 1”x1” boards that are 11”, 39”, and 36 1/2" long with the 3/16” bolts, nuts, and washers onto the Rubber-made in the holes drilled in Step 2. Put the 11” board in the front holes, the 36 1/2" in the middle holes and the 39” in the back holes.

6. Take the water runway and weld on the two 1/4" nuts so that the 1/4” rod that is 15” long will be perpendicular to the water runway and so it will go through the nuts.

7. On the 5” end of each turbine bracket, 2” from the end use a centre punch and make an indent in the steel. Then use a 3/4” drill bit and drill a hole in each of the brackets.

8. Take the two turbine brackets and weld them on, one on each side of the water runway, with the larger bracket on the right side of the runway. Make sure that you weld the two brackets on the outside of the water runways side walls. Also, make sure that the brackets are in line with the front and top edge of the water runway.

9. Find the two bearing brackets and centre them on each of the 3/4" holes on the turbine brackets and weld them on the outside of the turbine brackets.

10. Put some lock tight on the lathed down 10” turbine shaft where the fan wheel will sit. Slide the fan wheel on the shaft to where the lock tight is so it is in line with the water runway when it is all together. (As Shown Below)

11. Slide the turbine shaft through the 3/4" holes on the turbine brackets. When the shaft is through the holes slide the bearings on the turbine shaft and slip them into the bearing brackets.

12. Place the 1 1/4" pipe that is 35 1/2" long, 2” from the top of the water runway and weld it on at both ends of the pipe.

13. Take the 3” pulley and slide it on the right end of the turbine shaft. Once the pulley is aligned weld it on.

14. Take the fan motor and the 1” pulley and tap it on the pulley so it is flush with the end of the motor shaft.

15. Take the 1 1/2"x1 1/2" board that is 3 1/2” long and place it on the right turbine bracket. Then take the heater fan motor and place it against the 1 1/2"x1 1/2" board with the motor shaft facing outward.

16. Use the copper mounting chain and wrap it around the motor and 1 1/2"x1 1/2" board and the right turbine bracket and take the 3/16” bolt that is 2 1/2” long and put 2 washers on it and then put it through one hole on the mounting chain and then the other on the other side and tighten it up until the motor is securely fastens and will not move.

17. Then, put the 16” O-ring on the two pulleys so when the turbine turns the motor will turn also.

18. Slide the 15” rod through the 1/4" nuts and then set the water runway and everything on it in the notches that are cut in the 11” 1”x1” boards.

19. Then put the protractor on the water runway and mark with a pencil on the 39” 1”x1” board 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, and 60 degrees and then drill a 3/8” hole on each of those marks. Repeat this on both of the 39” boards.

20. Use the protractor and measure 70 and 75 degrees on the

36 1/2" board and make a mark and the drill a 3/8” hole like in Step 19. Make sure to mark each of the boards the same and drill the holes so they are straight.

21. Twist the 1 1/2" to 1” reducing nipple on the pressure part of the pump.

22. Put a 1” hose barb on each end of the 1” ball valve.

23. Slide the 1” hose that is 18” long on the 1” reducing nipple and put a 1 1/2" hose clamp on it.

24. Slide the other end of the 18” hose on one hose barb on the ball valve and put a hose clamp on it also.

25. Slide the 5’ long hose on the other end of the ball valve and put another hose clamp on it.

26. Then slide the 19” long rod through each hole that stands for a degree on the 1”x1” boards. Slip the other end of the 5’ hose inside the 1 1/4” at the top of the water runway.

27. Now turn the pump on and start the testing.

28. Once someone is holding the hose so there are no kinks in it hook the ohms-meter up to the wires on the generator and record your voltage results.

29. Repeat Step 27 adjusting the 19” rod to a different degree by changing the hole each time eventually moving the rod up to the 75 degree holes.
