We thought of this problem with the help of a trip to Hoover Dam and sites off of the internet. We wanted to see if we could build a small version of a hydroelectric plant and see what degree of slope (Penstock) could produce the most energy. We used the internet to research how hydroelectric plants work, and the parts that are located in them that we would need to use. We chose this problem to answer because we didn’t think that water couldn’t produce electricity until we saw it. When we found out that this was possible, we wanted to figure out what degree of slope could produce the most energy.
