Although the experiment was performed with care and was repeated three
times, there is still a possibility for an error to occur during the
process, that could affect the final results.
The
three probable causes of incorrect data could include:
-
Wrong
measurement of the mass of the dry DNA strands due to the balance
calibration (+/- 0.05g).
-
Leaving some DNA strands within the test tube during the collection
process.
-
Weighing
the mass of the dry DNA strand with the small kiwi seeds that might
not have been filtered properly.
To improve my experiment in the future I
would:
-
Use
a balance that has a more precise scale and better calibration.
-
Perform
the collection process more carefully to take out all the DNA
strands that precipitated.
-
Construct a better filtrating system to be completely sure that the
kiwi seeds will not pass through.
