Question:
Does the stopping distance of an automobile in its 'natural motion' vary when it travels on different surfaces and incline plane?

Purpose:
To find out if the stopping distance of an automobile in its ‘natural motion’ varies when it travels on different surfaces and incline plane.

Hypothesis:

The stopping distance of an automobile in its ‘natural motion’ varies when it travels on different surfaces and incline plane.

Variables:

In this experiment following variables were studied:

  • Independent Variables
    • Different surfaces on which the car is made to run
    • Angle of the incline plane

  • Dependent Variable
    • Stopping distance of the car run on different surfaces

  • Control Variables

    • ‘Natural motion’ of the car for each surface
    • Static friction on the car for each surface
    • Kinetic friction on the car for each surface
