In
conclusion we found that the chocolate chips have the most fat
(50%), the potato chips come second (30%) and the sunflower seeds
have the least (10%). These results
proved part of our hypothesis wrong. Although
we were right when we said that the sunflower seeds had the least fat, we were
wrong in saying that potato chips have the most.
We also looked at the food labels to compare our results with the official
fat content of our three products. The
labels showed our results reversed so the potato chips remained in between, the
chocolate chips have the least fat and the sunflower seeds have the most.
The reason that we got so little fat out of sunflower seeds
(known to be very oily and used to make oil)
was probably that the seeds are harder to crush, therefore the acetone
would not have absorbed all the fat. Although
the sunflower seeds contain more oil they are probably more healthy because
their oil is natural.
