Premarin

Premarin is a form of birth contol made from pregnant mares urine. The

horses are kept in the PMU barns (PREgnant MARes urINe). There, the

urine is collected and then sent to Brandon, Manitoba to the main barn. The

urine then has the estrogen removed. The estrogen is powderized and made

into a pill after other ingredients are added. Then it is packaged and put on

the shelf.

I mainly chose to do Premarin because horses are involved. There are

hundreds of horses in these barns and after they are done with, most go to

slaughter.
